EXMNA Meets with USCIRF on Cases of Religious Persecution
News
April 4, 2022
Representatives from EXMNA met with a representative of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom about efforts to catalog incidents of religious persecution.

This week, representatives from Ex-Muslims of North America (EXMNA) met with Dylan Schexnaydre, the Victims List and Outreach Specialist for the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). EXMNA and Schexnaydre spoke about the mutual efforts of EXMNA and USCIRF to catalog and monitor cases of imprisonment on the grounds of religious conscience worldwide. Schexnaydre inquired about EXMNA’s Persecution Tracker, which catalogs such cases in addition to cases of vigilante violence undertaken in the name of defending Islam. In particular, the conversation addressed cases of persecution cataloged by EXMNA that USCIRF had not yet been aware of. Following the meeting, EXMNA and USCIRF established a channel of communication, and EXMNA looks forward to further collaboration in the interest of advancing freedom of conscience and religion worldwide.
